I read earlier in the thread about how much one moment of losing your cool can do to your efforts. I have been VERY careful not to do that and my little guy is coming along nicely. I'm hoping someone will tell me why dogs dont like to enter tumbleweed patches ? I've never seen tumbleweed and never expect to here in Scotland. Is it prickly ? Well i suck! I let my dog down. She was a little scatterbrained at first, then she settled in and gave me 7 solid points. I missed 5 out of 7. On top of that i could only find one (actually she found it). I guess i need more work behind the shotgun. But she did great and probably thinks im a fool. ...

i may have explained it wrong I did not fire my gun while standing over him!! He was heeled beside me back behind the gun just like in training. He was introduced to gun fire in a large field while retrieving a bumper the shooter started about 50 yards away with caps then he worked closer and close...
