Re: How many of you let your pups chase birds?
IME pups learn to ignore non-game bird species. If it were me, I 'd teach that pup 'leave it' on the muscoveys, because if the area folks or owners of the golf course treat them as pets, you might be opening yourself up to major hassles if your dog harasses, catches, and/or kills them. Yup def alre...

Re: Pup might have Addisons Disease
Fantastic news! Pup doesnt have Addisons! So were extremely happy about that! All his blood work came back normal. Vet says hes really at a loss for what could be happening with Moose as far as the lethargy/passing out episodes. He thinks its a possibility that hes gotten stung by something and has ...

Re: Pup might have Addisons Disease
Thanks for the kind words. Took him to the vet this afternoon for the blood tests but wont get the results back until tomorrow. So im trying not to jump to any conclusions and hoping for the best. My goal is duck hunt with him and most likely some field testing. He already shows so much potential so...

Pup might have Addisons Disease
Well just got the call from my Vet that he thinks my 5 month old GSP has Addisons Disease  Day before yesterday my pup Moose started acting lethargic and weak after coming inside the house at around 7pm. His back legs started giving out and he would try to sit down and end up pretty much fallin...

Re: Puppy seems to hate crate during the day. Normal?
Thanks for all the replies guys! Not much has changed in the last few days, still doesnt like the crate very much. He gets plenty of exercise multiple times a day, and i whole heartedly agree that a tired puppy is a good puppy. For whatever reason, the last 2 nights he has been barking more in the c...

Re: Puppy seems to hate crate during the day. Normal?
Thanks for the advice everyone. Good to know that hes normal lol
I def dont try to keep him in the crate when I dont have to, but sometimes I need to put him in there just to get stuff done when I cant keep an eye on him. Hes not 100% housetrained yet.

Re: Puppy seems to hate crate during the day. Normal?
Gotcha! yea I forgot to mention I feed him ALL his meals in the crate, but most of the time he acts uninterested in his food if hes inside.
Ive read how attached GSPs can be to their owners, just didnt know how normal this behaviour is.
Thanks for the reply!

Hey guys, ive got my 13 week old GSP that is doing fantastic with everything except for his crate during the DAY. Is this normal for puppies at this age? He seems to absolutely hate his wire crate. Re: Need help finding GSP breeder in the Southeast
You have a great looking pup Greg!
I will def be in contact with Walnut Hills as that seems to be the consensus so far as my best bet.
Thank you guys for the help, and if anyone else has more suggestions I'm all ears!
