I find speed can be good in some cases, but in most cases I have found speed may mean poor patterns. Your right, it doesn't look 3/8's. That might work but I haven't had the sucsess, with 3/8's. I have a guy make them just about like that, and I prefer at least 1/2 in.. They take quite a beating over time. ..."pear"

I like to take a very soft bristled paint brush, wet it with plain water shake it as dry as you can get it and gently brush with the lay of the feathers. I have also wet the brush with a spray furniture polish and it works very well to clean but also seems to want to attract dust back more quickly. ...

I'd say without question your trapping moisture under your tarp. Not sure how breathable you trap is, if at all. Could be several things, first off make sure it's not the 1100 Mag. They simply won't cycle anything but 2 3/4 and 3 inch mags. If that is not the case check the condition of the "O"ring on the shell tube (magazine), if you find that to be in good shape, my next best guess the gun just plainly needs...
