GSP Lines
I was reading some forums lately and a lot of people seem to like hustler and/or slick (other dogs too, but those were seen a lot) for GSP’s. I was curious as to why people are still trying to line breed dogs who have been gone for a long time. Also, are there any dogs currently, or recently that yo...

Re: Possessive over birds
My dog has always been the one to instigate these fights. Just this past weekend it occurred again. This time it was at the end of the hunt and I threw the birds on the ground and another dog came up to them and mine went after her. Before the hunt started they were running around playing together. ...

Re: Possessive over birds
Define exactly what the problem is. In detail, exactly. My dog retrieved a bird. (Which he usually doesn't do because I have not trained him yet). He brought the bird to me then when I took it from him he turned around and nailed another dog. In another time my dog and another dog went after a down...

Re: Possessive over birds
Sorry, I didn't mean it in a smart "bleep" way. I meant it as in have you had experience with dog being possessive over dead birds to other dogs. Since you have been around gun dogs much longer than me. I could use all of the helpful info I can get.

Re: Possessive over birds
I should've clarified that it's over dead birds that were just shot. Have you had any experience with it?

Possessive over birds
Hello everyone, My dog (2 year old intact male GSP) has had problems being possessive over birds towards other dogs (He has no problems at all with humans). He doesn't have a problem playing with and/or hunting with other dogs. He has never been or shown possessiveness around food or toys towards do...

Re: Dog Sneezing.... anyone have experience with this??
Yes it was the nasal endoscopy and my vet did not say that there are only two vets, but the ones he recommended the most. I did not originally word that correctly. I didn't contact any vet schools and went to veterinary specialists in Rochester, NY. It did end up costing a little over 1700.

Re: Dog Sneezing.... anyone have experience with this??
Thought I would give an update, my dog had the rhinoscopy done and a 3 inch long twig was found in his nose. Poor pup had it in there too long. Vet said he should recover fine. He seemed fine and gave no signs of being disturbed other than sneezing. These are tough dogs !!!!

The vet preformed a scope of the sinus area while my dog was sedated.

Re: Dog Sneezing.... anyone have experience with this??
The only problem I have with being a foreign body is that he has never bled and never pawed at his nose. The vet saw nothing when he did the scope but inflammation on both sides, but as someone pointed out something may be up there far. I may go get a second opinion. I also put my finger on both nos...

Dog Sneezing.... anyone have experience with this??
Hello everyone, I have a young GSP (1 1/2) that I took grouse hunting a couple months ago. The next day he began to a sneezing fits where he would sneeze viscously 4-5 time then be fine. I thought he must've gotten into some seeds or something but then it went on for a few more weeks. I took him to ...
Re: go pro
The session is really simple to use. Watch videos of the different GoPros and see what quality you like best and what angle. Make sure you have good mounts. I like the sportsmen mount and head strap mount best for hunting.

Re: What's the most you've spent on a dog?
Thanks for all the answers. I realize I worded my question as if I was looking to buy a dog but I recently (4 months ago) got a puppy and he cost 1500 which is a obviously a lot of money. I was curious on how much some of you have spent on your dogs. Are you happy with your dog? What breed? I was l...

What's the most you've spent on a dog?
Just wondering how much it would be to get a well bred, healthy, and good hunting dog.
Thanks

I've decided against getting the pup. I think I jumped into it to quickly and have decided that I will wait until I find the right one from proven parents. I appreciate all of your replies.

Buying a puppy is a life time proposition and I wou...

GSP or Viszlas or others???
I need help deciding on the breed that would be best for me. I really like both the GSP and Vizsla but have heard some things that I don't like about both. I have heard that GSP will jump fences and I don't want that to happen because a neighbor has an aggressive GSD. I have heard that Vizsla is shy...
