Thanks for the replies.
I have hunted the same area the last few years. Last year the numbers were definitely down but still enough to keep it interesting. Just wondering if it has improved any or down from last year.

Sharptails and Hun numbers in Montana
Any ideas on how the Sharptails and Hun numbers look in Montana this year?
Planning on heading that way with a couple of dogs last week in September and would like to hear a report on how the hatch faired this year.

Re: Still at It.
Spud looks like quite a dog!
Your doing a great job keeping him hunting and in birds. So much easier to bring out their true potential with wild birds.
Congratulations !

Re: Idaho or Montana?
I've hunted Montana the last two years in the Lewistown area. Have hired a guide as it is a 3 day drive from south Georgia and would eat up to much time driving. Would love to carry my dogs one day, but that time of year I don't have time to drive that far. My experience with hiring guides is that y...

Re: my Youngest
Your a lucky guy to have a Sam Man sired dog.
I have two Sam sired males and two older Fritz males. All 4 are hunting machines. Very pleased and thankful to Rick and Brenda. They do an excellent job with there breeding program.

Re: Bird Hunters are here.
New here also.
Pure bird hunter. Would love to run some but work and time of year prevent it.
Love any dog that does his job well. Run GSP right now but could just as easy have a Britt or English Pointer.
Quail are my home birds, but travel more every year to hunt other birds.
