Re: Snake avoidance/ Vaccine

I had my dog in a NSTRA trial this weekend. She came to an area and her ears went back and she let me know there was a rattler there by her actions. I told the judge and he let me know a snake was killed there an hour earlier. Nice to know your dog is that snake broke.

One year I killed 8 Mojave Green rattlers near or in my yard. Anti venom does not work on the venom of Mojave Green. I had my dog to snake avoidance 3 times. Sounds crazy but every dog I have ever trained I use a small rock pebble to smack them with when they get out to far. I pick up a rock and show them I am picking it up. They keep an eye on me all the time. All I have to do is cock my arm back and they are back at my side. I don't even use a lead. I'...

Nice pics. I recognize several spots. 20-21 season was a bumper crop year at my home. We were finding just feathered chicks on opening weekend. Hit 2 coveys of over 100 on the last day of the season. next year in my area is going to be zero birds. Only 2 half inch rains since 10-20.

Bad hatch for Mearns last year. Monsoon rains didn't develop. I found about 50,000 acres of hunt able BLM ground near Sonita in one day. Cattle water tanks every 1/2 mile or so on the ridges, BUT those oak filled canyons are straight up and down and deep. Makes chucker hunting look easy.

Cj, She is limping all the time now. I am starting a regime of NO strenuous exercise now. Walking outside only on a lead. Definitely getting a consult with the orthopedic vet. I shouldn't have used the term torn ligament. Our best guess is it is Bicipital tenosynovitis. Big word for damaged ligament.
