Rattlesnake vaccine
My vet has been pushing this on us but I had never heard of it so I said I would do a little more research and get back to her. She said it is effective for all venomous snakes (In Texas) and slows the reaction down if bitten. What do y'all think and have you had this vaccine given to your dog? Any ...

Re: feeding pork cause pancreasisis
We mix it in with her dog food and ad veggies. I was just concerned with the pork consumption.

Juicing Pulp
Anyone feed their dogs pulp leftover from juicing or make treats with it? Can you share any good recipes or how your dog handled it?

Re: feeding pork cause pancreasisis
We feed our GSP wild pig that we harvest from our property.we cook it of course. But, reading all of this makes us second guess :-( I don't understand how something so organic could be worse than corn/grain infused dog food. Anyone else feed their dog wild pig? We haven't had any problems and she ha...

GSP spay recovery
How long did it take your GSP to begin acting "normal?" It seems like the next day ours was ready to go! We definitely do not want to chance anything and We are doing our bed best to keep her calm but all you owners of GSP's know that is no easy task.

Staying outside
We are wanting our GSP to be able to stay outside in the yard while we are at work instead of in the kennel. She refuses to be out there by herself and whines and scratches at the door constantly.....we have only let her stay out for 30 min or so. She is only 5 months old right now so we are hoping ...

Has anyone done snake avoidance with their dog? If so, what age was the dog and were you happy with the results?

Monsterdad can you send a link or anything on where you read clove extract is toxic? I haven't read anything but good things so its a little alarming.

Re: Eating venison while pregnant
I completely agree with all of you and think it is a much better choice than the hormone/antibiotic induced meat that is on the market. I have read that it can contain toxoplasmosis which can lead to miscarriages. It's the same thing they tell you about cleaning the cats liter box. But, there isn't ...

Eating venison while pregnant
I have been trying to find research on whether or not eating venison while pregnant is safe. It'd rather talk to people who have had first hand experience with it. Have you (the female) or your wives eaten venison while pregnant?

Re: Flea control?
We wanted to try a more natural approach so we use both of the products listed below. In two years we only found one tick on our Golden. The spray gives our GSP dandruff so I put coconut oil after the spray dries and it helps. The both eat the garlic pills like they are a treat. Vet's Best Natural F...

Lepto shot
My GSP is 12 weeks old and the vet told us we need to get her the Lepto shot? What has been your experience with this? I have done some reading and their are views from both sides of getting it vs not getting it. Thoughts?

10 week old possible hip dysplasia?
Yesterday our 10 week old GSP popped her leg out of socket. She was unable to use her back leg until I heard a "pop" so I'm assuming that's what it was. She already walks/runs with a slight side gait. Just wondering if that is normal for a pup or if we should be concerned.
Thanks.
Thanks.
