Not always as easy as that Sheltone.I have a 4 year old Jack Russell who likes to run the show . He doesn't get away with it with me, but will bully The 11 year old setter. I'v e put that JRT in his place a thousand + times ( not gently)and he still waits for opportunity to bully the setter. I can'...

Re: gsp pup and backyard chickens

Never had chickens, but the neighbors did. One of my shorthair girls got in their chicken coop. Killed every chicken. Then she couldn't figure out how to get out. That was a little aukward of a conversation. Tried to pay for the chickens but they didn't let me. They never got anymore chickens. My so...

Re: Aggressive pup

I guess that we have two personalities. It could be the dominant pup in the litter. Seems to me the litters I've seen, it's usually a female. They try to be dominate over the litter, usually shows when eating as pups. Turns into a female that is dominant in the house. Usually everywhere. Any female ...

I've seen CJ here in the NW. And I know some people that have a closely related female. She finished her show title and now they are going to work towards her field title. My bet is that you could kill birds over CJ. There are quite a few dual gsp's. I think the show lines still have a fair amount o...

The show people use coownership as a way to control breeding. The breeder of my last pup negotiated for collecting semon but it was just added to the sales agreement. If both people don't willingly agree it probably won't work. To expensive to run it through court.

No. It was about whether people are comfortable owning FT dogs which is a real gray area when you don't define FT dogs better. I believe the 25 yd comment was sarcasm. You can kill lots of birds with a 100 yard dog. You can kill lots of birds with a 400 yard dog. All about personal preference. I have owned both, and one is not any better than the other. That sounds like the perfect pair for me. I've got a 100 to 400yd dog and a 300 to 1000yd dog. I am less comfortable when my dogs change my alpha to miles instead of yds which happens at .5 miles.
