Dogs fighting

I have two male pudelpointers, one is 5 and the other will be 2 in a couple months. In the almost 2 years we have had them together they have truly fought maybe 5 or 6 times but 3 of them have been in the last ~6 months as the younger one is becoming very bold. They've never broken the skin of the o...

How to cover Ruff Tough kennels when using coupler kit

I have two Ruff Tough kennels with the coupler kit to attach them together and the tie down brackets on the outside corners. This is my first year with a truck cap and having to keep the dogs back there so I've never used a cover before. Are there any covers made to accommodate the couplers and tie ...

Re: Garmin Alpha question

It's a painful purchase, especially if you have more than one dog, but now that I have it I really like it. If you've ever used a Garmin handheld GPS it's exactly the same menus and functionality with the addition of the dog features. There are three physical buttons for the training feature that ca...

Re: Experience with Limber Tail?

It's happened to my dog a couple of times. Once after a cold hose bath, once after swimming in cold water. I didn't notice discomfort, just a crooked tail that was stuck. It went away in its own after a few days without any intervention. I didn't notice discomfort in my dog though but it's hard to t...

Are you trying to attach it straight to your post using the "Upload attachment" tab? I would guess the forum doesn't support videos or, if it does, has a file size limit that video wouldn't fit in. You probably need to post it to Youtube or some other video host and then link it here.

Re: Trying to decide.. Tenzing or Wing Works

I haven't used both but I do have a Tenzing and really like it. I don't really have much to put in the backpack part of it usually so that part of it is kind of a waste for me. I have some first aid stuff in there, wipes for sunglasses, and some rope and zip ties for (theoretically) undoing traps. I...

I'm too tall for any reasonably priced "upland" clothes so I almost exclusively wear Carhartt for hunting clothing. I wear the Double Front Work Pants (B01 model) and they are a lot better than regular jeans for blocking thorns and the like. They also have some loops and side pockets that sometimes ...

Re: Seat covers for pets?

I've had this one for a couple years and it's still holding up well: http://a.co/etMn744 It's wide enough for good coverage of the rear seats in a RAM 1500 and has flaps that cover the sides of the seats too. The hammock style keeps the dogs from falling between the seats, since the rear bench is so...

Bic Flex 4 disposables are what I've settled on. I like them more than the 80 bladed Gillettes and they are a lot less expensive. I also like them way better than the disposable Gillette 3 blades, I had to throw those out when I got some because it's all the store had.

Mine has cracked a nail like that or a bit worse a few times and it heals up just fine without doing much of anything. I wouldn't walk him on hard surfaces, or at all, and I wouldn't throw stuff for him to retrieve since that will make him run. Just regular playing in the yard should be fine though.

My dogs do word things in their sleep but I wouldn't say any of it is pointing behavior. Kind of off the topic but I often wonder what exactly dogs dream about. With one dog I could fit an intermediate rough tuff kennel behind the passenger seat in a RAM 1500 quad cab. I really like my Alpha but only when we are hunting. It is too bulky, both the collar and handheld, with too poor of a battery life for day to day use. Dr. Tim's Pursuit, usually about $65 for a 40lb bag. I get it from chewy.com, I don't think I've ever bought food locally since I got my dog. It used to be $60 for a 44lb bag if I remember correctly but, at this point, I'm not going to change something that works for us.

Eith a wonder lead or a prong collar, like the Herm Sprenger on gundogsupply, worked well for me. I prefer the prong collar though. The key to both is that they are for quick corrections, they shouldn't be a constant pryessure on the dog. If the dog just constantly pulls it's not enough enough of a ...
