Re: Force Fetch Help
Quick update: We did our second session today and I tightened his collar a little bit and left it on 2. We were outside on my tailgate, which is a different spot then what we were using. He seemed to do great. Every single time I put the bumper on the tailgate all the way across from him and said FE...

Re: Force Fetch Help
Hard to say when we don't know what your trainer was doing. I would call your trainer and ask him. What seems a little odd to me is the dogs was there a month and is still on the table? I'll try and get a hold of him. He didn't seem like it was a problem when he was locking up he just kept saying f...

Force Fetch Help
As some of you know my 1 year old lab just got back form the trainer. He went through a month of FF. He's on the table with the collar right now. As I was watching my trainer the last day he was there I noticed my dog locking up when he'd say fetch, and he'd have to say multiple times sometimes to g...

To much stress?
gonehuntin' wrote:Oh shoot, I don't think that'll hurt at all. I used to spend winters in Arizona with a string of 22 dogs. I'd start them in Idaho, finish them in Az.
Really, don't worry about it.
Ok awesome! That's pretty sweet lol thanks again for the help that took away some stress.

In my opinion, it does affect them. When they take a week off ff, they start to relax, then can get depressed when they go back on it. However, if there's nothing else you can do, you just do your best. On the other hand, I've sometimes had trouble with a dog, stopped for a few days, went back and ...

Got ya. Sorry to hear about the job. Any delay on the ff makes it harder on THE DOG. Try to keep on the same time schedule your trainer was on. The quicker you can get the dog in and out, the happier the dog will be AND the faster you will get through the ff. It's all good man need to do something ...

To much stress?
Quick question. My lab just got back from a month of being at the trainer. I'm going to finish up the FF. I was wanting to go visit some family for about a week. Would it be to much stress for him to come from the trainer, back home, then to my family's house to train on some FF and then back home t...

Re: Whistle Command Help
My Pup knows HERE and will come every single time I say here. He has been coming to me when I do 3 tweets and use a hand gesture and don't say a verbal HERE but how do I know he knows what I mean by it and not just coming to me because of the hand gesture?

Whistle Command Help
I've been working on whistle commands with my pup. I'm working on HERE with him. He is on a remote sit, and the program I follow says to nick him when I say HERE then 3 tweets. I've been doing that, but he want's to only do it sometimes. Lets say 5 times in a row he will come to 3 tweets, no body la...

2 quick questions.
When I have my pup sitting on place or when he's retrieving, I'll say here and when he gets closer I'll say heel. Sometimes he heel sits perfect and sometimes he's running so fast he likes to run right past my left leg and then turn around behind me then come heel sit. He just randomly started doing...

2 Quick Questions.
When my pup is at a remote sit on place (kennel) or when he's retrieving, I'll say here and when he gets close to me he's running so fast he runs right past my left leg and then turns around and heel sits. Swamp said eager dogs will over-run you when they're running back pretty hard. Does that need ...
