Let me know how you do and what land you decide to hunt on. I'm already planning a trip to ND or SD next season. I'll end up shooting more birds in a weekend in lubbock than in Kansas lol. So I want to do it right next year

Re: Question about first season with a GSP
I was in your shoes last season and I hunted my dog as much as possible. It's okay if your dog isn't staunch on point. Some people might suggest not shooting a bird if she bumps or causes a flush. In my opinion, the bird is the best teacher. After a few times of causing birds to flush, the dog usual...

A group of us just booked a 1/2 day hunt in El dorado. We plan on hunting public land with my dog near rush and russell counties after that. We're headed up the second to last weekend of November. Remind me, and when I get back I'll give you a report on the public land up there.

There's different levels of subscriber. You can pay to have up to like 3 disks out at a time if you want. I just did one at a time and took notes as I watched them. It's a monthly subscription and you can keep the disks as long as you like.

A good area for her to get some freedom without the worry of running away is a baseball/softball field. My city has them all over, I would just let my lab pup in and close the gate and she would go nuts and I never had to worry about her running into traffic or running away at that age.

There's no need to Force fetch at all. Just find what your dog loves and use it to get your dog excited about retrieving. This works with all breeds and sizes of dogs but its up to you as the owner who knows the dog best to find what it will take to do this. Here's an example from a friend of mine. ...
