Re: Quail recall pen

I don't know of any place. If you have the time, you could easily make one any size that would fit your needs. If you have a local hardware store, just get a roll of 1/2"x 1/2" wire, cut the panels you need and wire them together. I made my own funnel for it too. Its strong enough to carry 20 birds ...

I have noticed that only 1 egg of 2 is hatching. I regularly have fresh water and never ending food supply, so I am looking for answers. Hello all, I am updating my water system for my birds. They use the gravity fed waterers with open holes all around now. I would like to switch to a bigger container with the watering nipples. as soon as I know she is in the scent cone and running IMO, this is TOO late. With a launcher you will need to be "very in tune" with the dog picking up the scent. The absolute second the dog smells something the bird should have been launched. This should steady the dog, it will learn soon enough ...

Letting birds fly

I have been leaving my loft open 24-7 the last month or so. The birds fly off in the morning and return at night. I have no idea where they go, but they tend to be gone all day. I leave my traps up. Okay, so in the time I posted about my female shaking while after birds she managed to catch 2 squeakers. I was feeding and cleaning the loft and the birds hopped out the back door. Well, my female was out and snatched them right up. So my question is, what could be the effects of her catching birds?

Nice job with your trap! If they are eating grain, try to trap them with grain.
