Quick update. Dogs paw is back to normal. I kept it extra clean. Daily soaks in epsom salt. Bacitracin and bandaged. Thanks for the advice! Good luck in the off season.

Re: Paw infection
I kind of thought it was a digital cyst. I was doing a bunch of research and that's what it look like. I was cleaning it with some peroxide and I'm going to start soaking it in Epson salt. If that doesn't work then I'll take him to the vet. Thanks for the help.

Paw infection
One week ago we hunted pretty good. It was cold and about 6-12 inches of snow. i noticed he had a little limp this week but i just assumed he might have hurt a paw while hunting. The limp got a little worse so i checked his paws. In between his toes he had a big red sore. Im thinking he must have cu...

Re: Late season grouse in NY state
Was up at Partridge run a few weeks ago. Didn't get anything but I was hunting in some tough conditions. I went right after a big snow/ice storm and it was tough to keep my footing and the dog as well. But I've heard good things about it. So it's probably worth a try

thanks. i use a spray just to be cautious. but this weekend i found a ton of ticks on my dog. gave him a good tick bath so hopefully thats the end of it.
I'm curious if spray that has a strong odor could affect the dogs scenting ability?

i have a gsp. great dog. maybe i just have a really calm one, but i don't find his energy to be anything i can't handle. i do try to make him burn it as much as i can tho. he's good in the house around two kids. we hunt and hike all the time. i take him to parks. swimming. etc.

Now that you see it points the wing, throw it away and use real birds.
