Ray, first off snowpacked in the bottom of a shoe does nothing to protect it as a matter of fact I seen many many lame horse just from the sole pressure of having snow packed in them, but this can be avoided with the use of snowball pads or even by spraying the feet with cooking spray but it doesnt ...

Glue ons suck and I have to use them on a regular basis and hate them and evrything they do to a foot, that said the boots are worse, if you cant or dont want to shoe ur horses just give them a good trim and be sure to remove the flares so they dont get out of control, I recommend using venice turpe...

63 dogs last year and temps in the 90's, this year a few less dogs but it sounds like the weather has been cool with a little moisture as well, I was told that every dog there has had contact with wild birds on course, sounds like the numbers are up for the area.

Why dont you check into flying there and renting a vehicle! It would be way cheaper and way quicker equating to less travel time and more hunting/trialing etc.! I put two and two together and figured out it must be the same dog I watched the dog go she looked good, the course was a little hard to really show a dog's ability but Chris did a fine job with her. First time I met him he seemed like a good fellar! Congrads again on the placement!
