Re: Strap Vest?
I have an old filson that I like ok. I was just at Cabellas and tried on their new strap vest and loved it. I can't remember the model name it was $99. I liked it better than my filson.

Re: first time trainer - pup knows more than I do!
Sounds like she has been introduced and excited about birds and that's a good thing. I would really avoid the sit command as you might have some trouble later down the road when you steady/whoa her on birds. I would also really try hard to not let her catch birds. I was training at a game farm and m...

Re: Thinking of getting a new beeper collar
slower- thanks for the reply. My dog ranges further than 75 yards even in grouse wood. Eventually she tires out, then she hunts a little closer. I checked out the Sportdog Upland and am interested. Looks like it will do all the things I'm looking for. I was reading some buyer reviews (I think on cab...

Thinking of getting a new beeper collar
I have an older tri tronics collar and beeper I like but am toying with getting a new one. I really like the idea of turning the beep locater on and off remotely. I grouse hunt so I can't see my dog at times but when I can I'd like to turn the beeper off. I also like the hawk scream when on point. I...

Re: Hi All!!
Ok great. That should be a nice litter. I've met Jeff and have seen Fin in person. He is a very cool dog! The DVD does not necessarillay address basic puppy training but does start with the very basic/beginning type training with bird intro and basic commands. I started using it when my pup was abou...

Re: Hi All!!
Welcome to the forum. What breeding is your PP from? I have a one year old PP. She's been an amazing dog. You'll be really impressed at how much natural ability your pup has. I am doing NAVHDA and like it but honestly the best thing I did was get the perfect start perfect finish DVD. It's an awesome...

Debating getting started with pigeons
Trying to save some money and am thinking of getting a small coop of homer pigeons for training. A couple concerns: I have a couple areas of where I train and one is about 25 miles from my house. I have a knowledgeable guy I can buy young pigeons from and he will advise me on how to train them to ho...

Re: Does anyone use black and gold dog food
I feed it to my dog. I switched up Purina Pro plan because my dog would throw up occasionally on after eating it. I switched to black gold and she has not had any problems since. Also, seems to keep weight on a little more. Which is good for my pup since she runs pretty hard. It is also cost less. I...

Training birds (pigeons prefered) near Dayton OH
I'm looking to pick up some training birds near Dayton Ohio. The game farm I train at only has pheasants left, which is too costly for me to train with. I'd like to pick up some pigeon or quail.

Re: CZ Bobwhite
I took my new bobwhite out yesterday and shot some training quail with it. I really like the gun so far. It handles and feels pretty good. I'm really glad I didn't drop $2k on a gun. This will do everything I need. I really like the looks of it to. Really sharp looking in person. I plan on shooting ...

Re: CZ Bobwhite
I ended up picking up a Bobwhite 20 gauge with 26" barrels. My local gun shop had one that was $100 cheaper than Gander so I went a head and bought it. I should shoot it this week, but really like the fit and feel so far.

CZ Bobwhite
Im Looking to buy a CZ Bobwhite 20 gauge but would like some feed back before pulling the trigger- haha. I'm on a budget so the price if the gun definatley works. I shoot left handed and thought I'd avoid CZ since they are supposed to have cast stock for a right handed shooter. I checked out a Bobwh...
