I shot a pheasant this morning on my third shot. I'm glad I had the option of a third. My hold up with doubles is the price. Anything decent cost $1,500 plus. I can take a lot of hunting trips for that kind of money. I have a early 80's Lanber and its a great O/U and wasnt an expensive gun. I actua...

While I can appreciate the high tails and so called style thats been created in the setter, my preference is still seeing one that's low. My guy is somewhere i...

After you experience watching a predominantly white dog, you won't want a dark dog. You see, for me, working my dog means watching her/him ALL the time (when they show) and not just when they are on point. The grace, agility, pace, fluidity, animation, gait, relentlessness, application (smarts) and...

Shags - I know what I have seen with my own eyes. The ISCA and a local Irish setter club hold trials in my backyard(almost literally) and I have seen Irish setters that hail from up and down the eastern seaboard. probably a couple hundred different dogs over the last eight to ten years. Feed the dog in the crate. Make it enjoyable for short periods at first and never let it be punishment. It can take some time but it should become a safe haven for the dog. Exactly this. Crate ratched down with some big cargo straps in the back. Being inside the vehicle loose , in an accident not only can the dog get hurt but them being tossed around inside could injury other passangers as well.

Your vet makes money off of spay and neutering dogs. If you leave the office chances are she won't get you back unless you agree with her and schedule an appointment it reminder... They also make money off the medical issues associated with a early spay or neuter. Common sense would indicate that t...

I'd bring him to the vet and have him run a blood panel for Lymes and other possible tick born stuff , he may be in pain the way you describe his movement. A two year old dog should not move like that unless he's been hunted hard that day or the day before. Rule that out first, its not something yo...
