Like mentioned above, have an area where they can see their surroundings.
I like to wait at least 3 weeks before I let birds that weren't born here fly.
I've let some fly sooner,...some make it,...some don't. We have a LOT of hawks here though, and young birds are easy pickins.

I would think that Advantix II would help since it has permethrin in it and REPELS ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes. Something else you might consider,... Thanks for the feedback! I left it in their hands,...if they felt comfortable with it, I'd buy them. They decided 4 more birds (rollers at that) wasn't worth the risk of infecting my loft.
