Sorry to hear the news. Sure glad Howie, you, and all the dogs made it out Ok. Stinks about the truck but its just a truck. Better the truck than one of you guys or a dog. I think you will have better luck next weekend.

I just went from 7 homers to 12 real quick by the same thing happening in my coop. It was all good but it only left me with 3 birds to train with cause they were all sitting on eggs or babies!

Re: Pigeon Coop Question
Do you guys fly your homers in the winter or no. This will be my first winter with birds to. I haven't been able to get them to breed all summer let alone winter. How old are your birds? Mine haven't laid any eggs yet, but I believe this is because they are so young. I plan to fly my birds all year...

Thanks Tammy. He actually ranged a lot father today than normal so I didn't think he was gonna get hit that bad but he did great in everything else. Especially with just be introduced to some things the right way. I can honestly say his test was a true NA test and I was thrilled with the score.

It worked out good the last 2 days. I started to feed just a cup for 10 birds and they gobbled it right up with no waste.

Re: Stopping pigeons
I got 10 birds, it's a gravity feeder, as they eat it or waste it in this case, more comes out for them. Should I just put enough in it for one feeding. How much do 10 birds eat? Or will it get better after there out and flying? I have another week to go before I let them out for there first flight.

Re: Stopping pigeons
I feed pellets right now. So should I just add a section of floor under the feeder so they don't throw them out through the wire onto the ground. Loft is 16 inches off ground so they get to it to clean it up off the ground.

How do you guys stop your pigeons from basically dumping or throwing out all there food. More food ends up on the ground than in the feeder. I thought no way are they going through so much food. Any advice? Thanks

So I finished the pigeon loft last week and picked my 10 homers last Wed. The birds have been in the loft since than and tonight I took the pup for a walk and checked by the birds to change the water. One guy got out and off he goes. They have never been out to fly on there own ever. He flew into co...

Yes, he did socialize well. It took him a little bit to get use to being here but I think now he is starting to like it. Yet to be determined for my setter though LOL. She looks at him and sneaks off to another room.

Thanks guys for the help. I am still debating the metal roof. I can run a extension cord to it in winter to keep water from freezing. I didn't even think about the slant of the roof until I already attached the aviary to front. Oh well, I guess I am not perfect after all:)

Re: Pigeon Question
I had a skinny metal stake longer than the bobs and I cut off the end that had a loop on it so it fits perfect, put in 2 staples on each side of door, just slide the stake through under bobs works perfect and easy. Problem solved.

I think I am a slow learner though cuz I can't figure out how to or what the easiest way is to hold the bobs up on the door so the birds can get out and fly? Thanks for all the input guys. Its greatly appreciated.

Pigeon Question
Just got done with the pigeon loft and I have 10 homers coming in 2 weeks. I believe yotes will stalk a dog 100%. I had my setter pup out just running a corn field to get her outside and explore. I kept hearing leaves rustle in the woods and I knew a deer wasn't following us. This went on for half an hour and finally I looked in the woods there stood the yote eyeing up my ...

Sorry.... I am planning on hunting grouse, woodcock, ducks, geese and some phez. I want a calm dog in the house but switch in the field.
