Re: How do know when it’s time ?

My GSP was blind and hard of hearing at age 15 but she went out to the yard and navigated by smell to find her way around. She developed a fast growing cancer in her mouth and it was time. I know how very hard it is for you, it was for me. I m sure your GSP has had wonderful life and 15 is a good ru...

Re: Vizsla Pup won't point frozen quail

I would never expect a dog of any kind to point a frozen bird. You also dont want them pointing feathers either. There are plenty of books on the subject. :D

Buying a puppy is a life time proposition and I wou...

Re: Dog pointing too far from bird?

Are you using a launcher with a remote? There are a lot of dogs are scared to death of those launchers. Your pup may be trying to stay away. Scenting and pointing at 40 yrds is not a good thing, you will never find the wild bird to flush. Dizzy a pigeon and see if you get the same results. I bet you...

Re: Dog got cut up by a cat, any reason to worry?

My GSP bitch used to love cornering cats. She and the neighbor cats would tangle with lost of claws and screaming by the cat. She never killed a cat but got a few scratches, nothing ever came of them.

Re: How do I stud my dog out?

Is your GSP registered? That is a first step. The people you bought the dog from should have provided you the information to register the dog. After doing that, get a breed standard and see how your dog conforms to the standard. Most ppl want to improve the breed and will evaluate your dog for confo...

Dog Pad Blisters

We took one Vizsla to a hunt test last weekend. She was limping on Monday and found blisters on her front pads. She was not on pavement at all, just dirt and rocks, stickers and brambles. Does anyone know how this happens? Im at a loss. Thanks

Re: pace problems

I have a 4 yo V that hunts slowly until she finds a bird or her bracement finds a bird. She gets real revved up after contact and her pace increases. Its like she doesn't want to waste energy unless birds are there. I have a 1 yo V bitch that hunts hard and fast and big. I never have to urge her to ...
