Yes we have insurance on the land 5 million plus we have a game preserve lic if we put on pen raised birds plus our game bird breeder lic, 600 acres of land to hunt planted etc for pheasant wild game birds have to go by laws of the state

Good point maybe for this line......I have hunted birds over 4 month old Rymans and Llewellins but that is me and of course these were not steady wing and shot but to flush but for the most part a more mellow pup close working gun dog...Thanks

I have always worked close working setters and usually had my own way with training them etc or heck I was lucky and they have all been naturals which I know the case is not, my problem now I have two young about 3.5 months old Field Setter pups very high energy, they point should know the word whoa...

I have always hunted close working setters, still have a few and love them, but also got into the American Field trial runs and learning it amazes me how my field setters so called runs but they just shoot a blank gun over the dog and no retrieve ...Me personally always wanted the setter to retrieve...

You are correct we both could name BIG Kennels all day! Some people tend to think they are higher class if they have a dog from there etc... For me when I have a litter which this will be my first in three years, we both know if you take in account all you time etc...You do not make a dollar off you...

I believe it was Chance and Todd will have to look again since these are some of the older dogs! Old Hemlock now they only breed to who they want and have say to who you breed to in their conmtract etc!!! These older dogs were Georges

Im sure you know this but if your train in spring and summer months I have the permits to I have noticed either let all hens out or all males if you let both out most will not return as they will go looking for a mate and breeding! This is not always the case but found it out to be true a lot! Good ...

Thanks for all the post...No Im not running any big field trials but I did want to do AKC HUNT TEST.....Like I was always told cant make a bird dog without birds! I hunt grouse and woodcock our wild birds then of course liberated quail,huns, partridge and pheasants

Oh breeding foe a smaller weight so right there and what I have done! I have seen from other kennels go as much as 80 +++ pounds!!!

What does going to Summer Camp on the priaries mean to you?
I know more training can you shoot birds? Just pigeons etc?

Agree it is the age of the dog! I have seen people not do a thing with a setter until two years old( I don't believe in that but its me! When I do have a litter my pups go in a quail field flight covered and can chase and point and this gets their motor going when I see that is all they are thinking...

Hi..The Cortinnux quail will not sit they wont fly either maybe 5 feet or so....Some bobwhites will set if left along and have enuff room I had the Mexican speckel hens last year do it~ Better off buying GQF genisus pre set incubator with turner it is preset for temp turns eggs and holds 120 of them...

It depends somewhat with what's going on with the dog, how many dogs are being worked, what's going on in their personal lives & the weather. Time zones make a difference too. I t sounds to me like you want a reason to leave the dog in hopes it will turn into something the trainer has already told you it's not. Update Finally a Video!!! Looking ok! Says it is getting to hot to train where he which I do believe and they just train on pigeons why he wants to go to summer camp again....I do think you can get bobwhites out west or raise some if your a trainer esp....I raise thousands, but that's me maybe there...
