Coach529 No shell holders. It's a double pocket with a flap that velcros to either the outside of both pockets or inside the first. Kinda like a shooters pocket that divides empty shells from loaded only larger. I just put 2 boxes of 12 gauge shells in the box in the right hand pocket. It won't velc...

Coach529 I have the Browing vest and love it. You can adjust this vest to fit over almost anything you'll wear hunting. Also you can adjust it so the gamebag fits low to help carry your birds. I use this vest for training also in warm weather I can carry lots of extra stuff ( water, first aid kit) i...

I'm sorry I'm missing the point here. the article says you can't chain a dog up for more than 3 hrs. Is that a problem with training on a chain gang or field trials? Next it says you can have a dog tether to a pulley or running line without a choke chain collar or pinch collar. What am I missing here?

I agree with big steve. What could be more beautiful than a Setter head? You would sell more to the public with a Setter head. But since this is mainly a GSP forum you would sell more with GSP's on the back to the forum. Really what's the difference between the (ears :o :o ) head of a GSP, Viz,...

Thanks for the report Brenda, I've been wanting to see that, but don't know if I could handle it. I have had my Flag out all month and will be wearing Red White and Blue monday. I did read a article about dove shooting making a pointing dog gunshy, because they are used to seeing the bird flush and the predator drive kicks in. With dove shooting they are sitting there and all of a sudden BOOM. What I'm trying to say is there's no predator drive going on with dove hunting . ...

JeremyKS That first vest looks a lot like my Browning vest except it has snaps on the front pockets and my has velcro. I have a friend who has the second vest and he likes it and I think it's a very nice vest. You can adjust both to ride low in the back so the weight of the birds are more distribute...

http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/4366,78923_Browning-Upland-Vest-Pack-with-Hydro-Game-Bag.html I use this vest most of the year for training or hunting, it has large double pockets in the front and a large game bag, so I can carry lots of water or shells( I miss a lot). It has a transmitter pocket...

Casper, I got one from LCS and another from Dobbs training center in Marysville, CA. The Dobbs bag is much larger and has a larger opening. I think the LCS bag may be better for quail so you don't have any escape. http://www.dobbsdogs.com/catalog/index.php?zenid=6cd8549dc39cd687b5ba903138bab095&main...

This is the vest I have, but I don't use the water pack system. It's to much of a hassle to clean so I just load it up with water bottles. Those are double pockets in the front (2 bottles each side)and I can load up the bird bag. That's a lot more water than the camel pack and I use the bottles in t...

Here's a good read on the field side of llewellins, quite a few years ago but they used to be major trial dogs and may have had a impact on today's english field setters.

Flying will be cheapest way to get the pup I think. Driving it's a 1500 mile round trip for you guys at $3.00 a gallon. It's a 700mile round trip from my house to Springset, another 700 miles to you guys, and I think I'm the closest to Springset. However I will like to help in some way so let me know.
