I had a problem with skunks with my first Golden ret. She went after them and they went for her, once she had one come out of a creek area to a dirt road we were on and it went right for her. Another time I was in a rice field and she went on point in a rice check and I send her in, she came out wit...

I always carry a case of bottle water in my truck for me and the dogs. When I take the dogs out for a run I load up my hunting vest with bottles of water, the vest gets lighter as the dogs drink. I tried the bladder that came with the vest ,but found I could carry more water in bottles. I do this al...

A Hunter's Fireside Book-by Gene Hill
An enjoyable book to read. Here's a quote from the chapter called The First Gun as he explains his feelings about giving his daughters they're first guns. " A man today can't leave too much behind in terms of worldly goods. His children and their children have to get by as best they can. So I chose ...

Find the dog that fits your personality. I'm the opposite of Bosun, (not that's a bad thing just different personalities :) ), I don't like the dog that fights to get back up. I like a pup that will get back up but not in a way to force his will over mine. This is also why I think I do better with G...

Jon I've enjoyed this post. Stick with food you like. Here's another tool for your comparison.
http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=home-tab
Click on the compare tool, then put in the food you what to compare. Also you can click the ingredient such as beet pulp and see why it's in the food.
