Re: Shotgun for Small Person
Not to be offensive or rude but...what is small? 5 ft 90 lbs or 5'4" 125. I know small to some guys may be big to others. I suggest you take her somewhere she can hold different stuff and see what is comfortable as far as weight and size. You said quail hunting, I am assuming you will be walking mil...

Re: .204 vs .223 vs .22-250?
I guess my question to you is how far will your average shot be? Will you be shooting through any brush or grass or anything? You also said mainly yotes and jackrabbits, any thing else? Will it be a gun you carry around and walk with or more of a bench gun sitting on the back porch shooting those pe...

Re: huNting airedales?
Well I would have to say the little lady did well. Boreing and under foot but she retrieved down birds and found all of them with ease. Probably my favorite part of the hunt was watching her attempt to pick up a wounded flapper runner bird. Getting her out with my gsp helps her range a little bit bu...

Re: Dove Season
We are super pumped but not so ready for the opener. Sunday we busted some clays, which went very well for some of us, others may have a long season to tighten it up. Then went out to check the spot we hunt. It was gated and locked up tighter then most of our dogs on point! It's been a fun looking f...

Re: huNting airedales?
What kind of hunting will you be doing? My buddy has one due to his alergys. She is younger and this will be her first season on birds. Dove opens on the first and he plans on having her out there to retrieve. She sure is birdy tho. And she is a tracker, came from a litter of lion hunters down in so...

I would go to war with my Benelli Nova. It beats any 870 anyday of the week in my opinion.

Re: remington 11-87
What's your reason for wanting it? Is it up against anything else, like 11-87 or blank? Newer remingtons make me a little nervous but my dogs name is Remington so.... I personally like the 11-87 every one I shot worked great and when it needed to, however, I don't own one...yet!

Yeah I've ridden in the Sonoita Rodeo a few times. Beautiful country just a bit of a drive for a fundraiser. However season ends on the 10th so.... Gives me a reason to head down that way where you can get all three. Maybe the old lady will understand! Here's to hopeing no work, and it is the week b...

Yet another ex airforce boy turned CNC machinist. Rodeo on the side for extra cash if I win but mostly only enough to pay to keep me headed down the road.

Re: Pocket Knife Recommendation
I have a Kershaw in my pocket. Gerber in my truck ashtray. I like the Kershaw. Carried a CRKT for years and won't buy another I don't think. Stupid clip issues and she didn't stay sharp all to long with normal use. Just my experience. Tho I only had the Kershaw 6 months and had to send it back becau...

Re: About lost my best dog today!
Im sorry to make you relive the situation, but what was your first reaction when you found the dog? What did you do as far a preparation to get the dog to the vet. Also how far did you have to travel to the vet? I found my gsp nose to nose with a javilena last week out hunting and I nearly had a hea...

Re: A little about you...
Hello all, my name is Bucky. Im a 26 year old guy living here in AZ. Was born in PA but good ole uncle Sam brought me to the land of catus and rocks and I stayed. (darn women will do that to a guy). I am now a machinist who is addicted to bull riding. I have been hunting my whole life and was raised...
