Re: Pigeon grit
IMO you should bake those egg shells in the oven for an hour or so at 350 to avoid salmonella trouble with your pigeons

Re: Pigeon grit
The above advice is correct.. If you're feeding pellets you do NOT need grit.
I feed malt barley cause it makes my birds fly like crazy so I have to supplement with grit.

Re: Pigeon grit
if it gets wet from moist air, change it.
In an open air coop it will stay pretty dry. If your grit is always "wet" the next day after you put it in.. Your ventilation isn't right.

Re: Getting started with a flusher
Watching this thread with interest... My English springer Otis is 17 weeks.. Only thing I'm working on is "Here"(now with a whistle).. Knock on wood, he's seems to have this one down pat even in the woods out back off the lead. And "Hup".. his attention span is short so he won't hold it more than 20...

Ducks are easy to raise and pretty disease resistant Is it worth it to train with live mallards or is a dummy just fine? At some point I'd li...

Re: Pigeon Loft?
I have great luck with an open front shed roof type loft..
My current loft is 8'x16' and comfortably houses 20-25 pigeons.
Bought my first gun dog 3wks ago and I can't wait to put my ex-racers to work
