I have an 80" reach and need a 31" draw length. Which bows have this draw length that don't break the bank.

Re: Gatta poop eater, any helpful suggestions?

I put pineapple juice and pineapple chunks in the fod. The dogs liked the food but started to leave the poop alone. Not sure if its 100% effective but it definitely slowed them way down on the poop eating

Re: Buying,Breeding,or does it make a difference

I guess nice dog is a general descriptor. I was thinking a ruputable breeder of multiple decades, national champions, and then you will have the possiblility of a solid prospect. Most importantly you will will get a healthy prospect because breeders of reputable stock usually do all of the health te...

Re: Buying,Breeding,or does it make a difference

We have breed two GWP litters. Both dogs had lineage to quality animals and were good hunters but not directly out of champion dogs. The litters turned out fine but I felt a bit irresponsible for these breedings. I feel like reputable breeders do a lot of homework in the breeding of quality animals....

Re: Force Fetch Age

I have to say that I am using the method as described in the Green Book from NAVHDA. I am already seeing my 7mo GMP beginning to comply with holding the fetch dummy as well as my son's 4 yr old GSP. I think this method seems to not be a pressured as I what I imagined force fetch to be and the dogs a...

A disgusting habit. I was wondering if anyone had any causes or fixes for this behavuior? We have tried pinapple juice in the foods and it does help when we are consistent.

Re: Your Training Weakness

I have a question:I haven't trainind a dog for about 12 years. I waited till our dogs got 12 years old(not on purpose) and got a new pup out of the Cascade kennel(GWP). I bought the NAVDHA Green Book and the DVD. I was wondering since it was created in 1984 if Winterhelt's training methods are still...

Max's tail was at about 9 oclock on scent btuta s soon as the pigeon moved his tail popped up to 11-12:00 posi...

Re: High Tails ?

I've been watching this thread a bit and am in the process of training a 6 mo old GWP. He carries his field cut tail very high most of the time. My question is that if he were to carry it low on point, will stroking it up eventually get him to do this on his own? Has anybody had success changing tai...

Re: Nevada Chukar Season

The food sources around water is the key I believe. Guzzlers have no food around them and some are dry anyway. Streams , ponds. seeps, springs that flow all thew time are the way to go.

Sorry about the mispostings. I first started hunting the little buggers in high school in the 1975 range. Stopped for a while and then got started up again in the late 80's. However long, I'm hooked now!!

Re: Do it yourself remote launcher

Years ago I welded up some 1/2" box tubing into a release cage. I used the material from a trampoline for the launch bed. I was going to use the servos and remote from remote controlled cars and trucks but never got that far.
Anyone ever tried this approach?

Re: Question 4 Nevada Chukar Hunters

No t too many snake encounters in over 25 years of hunting chukar, can count them on one hand. Early season is the worst time of the year. I thnk they do a good job of avoiding us too. They don't like us or our dogs as well.

Re: Question for the chukar hunters (pointers)

Don't over hunt the same coveys and areas. They will always bump 15-20 yards farther out the second day. Find more than one area close and hit both on a weekend trip. Chukar areas are easy to identify. Water sources, food , steep cover.

My son has a 3 yr old GSP that will come back to his side for a while before she returns to hunt after a gun shot.
