I would use a blind also. camo wont be necessary i would wear black it blends into the darkness of the blind. i use a bow for turkey hunting also, keep the shots close. I like to shoot at the neck that way i either miss or have an instant dispatch. Good luck and happy hunting

Re: A pointing lab is just a lab/cross
Well, what is the point of registering your dogs as pure breeds then? If you breed out of standard field dogs how do you justify complaining about sporting group show dogs that can't hunt? i have a feeling we are kind of derailing ehre, but how is breeding an above standard sized dog have anything ...

It says that no where that is just your interpretation of an opinion given not a BREED STANDARD. I'm done arguing you wheel only be here long enough to get this profile blocked then it will be on to the next one. Happy hunting

Re: A pointing lab is just a lab/cross
By that logic it would be OK to breed Brittanys with poor pointing abilities with each other to make flushers since they do not say they have to point in the standard? Are you ok with that, because that is you and docs argument applied to pointers. A+b=c entails that c-b=a. So what you are saying i...

Robert you are talking about trying a lower level of stimulation with the e collar. How did you pick the level of stimulation that you have used? I don't know how others do it but I personally use the lowest level of stimulation the dog will acknowledge. If I need to I can always turn up the stimula...

I personally use mine centered and a high on the throat as I can that way it doesn't work up and lose contact. I also center the belly collar on my dog he just pees on it. If you haven't used the collar I would suggest let the dog wear it for a few weeks during training and play so when you turn it ...
