Further feedback - This past deer season, the Rocky boots started leaking. They made several cold and wet days in the woods not as fun as it should have. I won't be buying another pair.

Re: Rocky boots - any good ?
I have the prolight snake boots and have worn them through two deer seasons, an upland season and a turkey season. They've held up well, comfortable in a range of weather conditions and have kept my wide feet dry. I haven't tested the snakeproof part yet (knock on wood)

Re: puppy for adoption
How old is the puppy? Has it been exposed to birds yet? Do you have a pedigree for this "Pointing Yorkie"? Ha! This should probably at least be moved to the Dogs For Sale area here, if not deleted entirely and posted on Craigslist. You'll probably get more interest from regional sources in your area...

Re: Tips to make dog stop whining...
I've only been exposed to about a dozen GSPs, but I haven't met one yet that didn't whine. Could this just be a trait common to the breed?

Re: NAHVDA training day
I've had nothing but good experiences with NAVHDA so far. My pup isn't here yet, but that hasn't stopped my local chapter from including me and trying to prepare me. I've even had the pleasure of taking to the NAVHDA HQ folks and they've been great too. Try contacting one of the folks listed on this...

Franchi Intensity. Same inertia design, made in the same factory as the Benelli, lower price. I got one for well under MSRP and I love it How is the recoil with heavy duck, goose loads ? I haven't fired anything really heavy out of it yet. In a t-shirt, I've felt recoil. My cheap hunting vest has a...

Re: Tipping guides
A friend and I went on our first hunt in mid-October at a preserve. Each of us got an assortment of 10 birds and shared a guide for $140 each. Our guide was great and made sure our first half of the birds was on an open field as an introduction. He even set up a bird near a pond and directed out ove...

I switch between a glock 23 .40 in cooler months and a S&W Shield 9mm in warmer months when wearing shorts. I use a crossbreed supertuck IWB holster.
