Re: Watching Westminster?
As a member of this group whom has a GCH Vizsla in the conformation ring who is also 2 passes short of his MH and has run NAVHDA Utility I will say the thing that bothers me most is the descriptions of the sporting dogs. Yes, it is true that dogs have an intended purpose when bred but for the most p...

Exactly, Jax just needs to trust his nose a bit more. We are excited about him and are glad to have gone through the NA process. Good luck to you!

Re: Potomac NAVHDA NA
He earned a Prize 3, a few points away from a Prize 2. His track was not as good as it could have been, but I believe that to be trainer/ handler error. I could have done a better job prepping him but he does live 3 hours away from us as he is owned by my sister in law. We probably only had 5 or 6 t...

Potomac NAVHDA NA
Me and Jax, Cameo's Downhill Flyer NA P3 leaving the field after a nice run. It was his first test of any kind at 13 months old and my first time handling in NAVHDA. Special thanks to forum member Hatrick and the Potomac Chapter for all their help as we prepared for the test.

Re: Virginia off season training?
I am a member of Potomac NAVHDA. Look at our website, we are about 45 mins from you. We train at McKee Beshers WMA, also, there is and Isaac Walton league nearby, both places should allow you to get your dog on birds as you have noted.

Re: Training day - how do yours go?
I am with Hatrick, both members of Potomac and the structure of our training days are what really excited us as new NAVHDA members. We always start with basic obedience, on leash and I am always jealous of the guys who can run the whole session off leash ( one of my goals ). As with any group there ...

Re: Educate me please Penn or OFA?
BB,
Zeke had his hips x rayed by Dr Benson in Westminster, he was really good. I have inquired about Penn with some of our Vizsla gang and it seems to just be preference as to which test they do.

Re: Them and Us
Our male Vizsla is a GCH and JH, we continued to show him after finishing his CH title because we were too old for NA and not ready for UT or SH. He finished his GCH and since then we seem to get the same comments about him being thin. My wife handles him in the ring and is an avid runner and fitnes...

Re: does she sound timid to you...or is it just me
We joined Navhda after our male V was over a year old and were not ale to run the NA. His drive seems to be very strong and as we have just started FF, he seems to be taking to training very well so far. Whenever we pull into our training grounds he starts huffing and sniffing more aggressively than...

Wow. I have a 21 mth old male Brittany, 21" and 42 lbs. I fed Orijen for a while but he had bad gas and loose stools. Switched over to Acana Grasslands and everything settled in perfectly, the dog is thrivig on it. He is free fed but normally eats about 2 bowls a day with 75% of consumption in the ...

We have learned that stay goes with sit and whoa goes with stand. Whoa and stay are the commands that follow the position of the dog.
