Does anyone know what the temperature rating is on these boxes? I am considering buying a couple for my pointers but it gets below zero on occasion and I am wondering at what temperature I’d need to bring them in but it doesn’t say on any website and I can’t seem to get a straight answer from a reta...

Re: Permit process to guide on NF land (and other public land)

There's no such thing as the "forestry service". It's the US Forest Service. Just sayin'... And ya, there are some hoops but I did some raft guiding with my brother when I was younger and it wasn't that big a deal. Some paperwork, insurance (which is relatively cheap), and 3% of revenue generated (w...

I thought my female was coming in season. There seemed to be swelling and even a little bit of blood. It lasted only about 4 days and then stopped. Anyone ever experience something like this? Should I be worried?

Chilled fresh semen and regular AI are what I am considering. Sounds like folks have had some success and I'm looking at about $1000 when all is said and done. Thanks for the responses. Appreciate it.

Re: Dog checking in a little too often

Most dogs will become much more aware of their handler in the breaking process. How was he as a young dog? If he didn't range much before you "broke" him, there is little chance you will get a lot of independence out of him now. Time, birds and experience with getting it right will give the dog con...

Dog checking in a little too often

My male shorthair is about 3 years old and has been dead broke for about a year and a half. I've hunted him the past two seasons and I trust that he's broke. I'd like him to start ranging and hunting a little further and not checking in so much. Any suggestions?

Nice looking dog but I see what you're saying about the tail. Does it go straight on point? I guess I'd be a bit reluctant to breed her but if it's straight on point and you bred her to a dog with a nice straight tail then you might be alright.
