Dog Clipping
We recently picked up a set of quality Andis Clippers and want to get some more blade heads for them. According to Andis, English Springers (close as I could get for a Brittany) should be clipped with blades that leave 1/4"to 1/8". That seems so short! We already have 3/32" and 3/8". Momma wants to ...

Having done this only recently, you need to have 4 posts approved before you get to see them or post without parental support.

Based up on the reviews in gundogsupply, I got 2 DT remotes. Quite satified. Love the beeper to find them. They stay cocked when the misbehaving pup tackles them. Very solid.

Re: Rabies
My daughter is now a pharmacist specializing in infectious diseases. She did a stint on the reservations here in AZ. Even more so than Bubonic Plague and Haunta Virus, rabies is the one that worried her the most. 100% fatal after symptoms become apparent. A lot of folks resist going to the doctor wh...

Re: Do you shock yourself before your dog?
I like to test mine on my idiot son-in-law. You get two of these SF Air Force guys in the room and then it becomes a competition on who is tougher. Yah, they both went to continuous on 5 (highest). I sure hope he developes some common sense before they start having kids!

PVK Mavericks's Origins
I was gifted a Brittany out of Tempe, AZ by a guy that couldn't hunt him. I feel very fortunate. I would love to find out where he came from. I have asked the original owner for his papers several time but to no avail. I know that he came from and was trained by Prairie View Kennels in Colorado. I c...

Re: Roading rig and harness
My little Britt was too small for everything I found. I ended up buying the smallest sled dog harness to have my wife modify it. Still waiting after 2 yrs on that part!

Re: Reverse Sneezing
It seems very sporatic with my dogs and I have never been able to correlate the event with dust/pollen/grass or temperature. I'm just glad it is not seizures! Scares the "bleep" out of me when I have had it happen.

Re: Reverse Sneezing
I have seen all my dogs do that but instead of one or two, it is a series of about 10 without stopping. I know the little Britt has allergies. It is very disconcerting. It seems to pass without lasting effects after a few days. At least now I know what it is called.

Re: my dogs first hunt
I understand how that is with the pen raised birds ... slow sometimes and can't fly far. Even if you don't shoot, the dog can run down the birds. So is the fix not to do pen raised birds till the dog is steady on point? My older dog is really steady untill the bird moves and then he is after it. Wha...

Re: A little about you...
I finally managed to successfuly log in after having problems for a long time! I live in NW Tucson, AZ and have two Britts. Maverick is 8yr old and the new pup is Rusty, 1.75 yr old. I am certainly a rank beginner but love my dogs more than my kids! Maverick is awesome except holding to flush...
