Brittany grouse lines

Consider getting a Brittany for Ruffled grouse hunting
Have not had Britts for 20 years
Any suggestions for particular lines and breeders would be appreciated ( located east coast )

I agree codym.
Chukars are the toughest birds to hunt.
Especially in Idaho.

What do you wild chukar hunters think is the best pointing dog?
Hunting out in desert and mountains.
Think short hairs are hard to beat.

Yeah your right, its 26/18 protein and fat.
Its higher in protein and fat than the Science Diet I have been feeding.
And at a lower price.

High Standard dog food

They sell this food at Sportsman whse., and supermarkets says it contains 28% protien and 18% fat.
Anyone using this feed, or have any opinion of it.

Great photo's Quill.
My shorthair was snake bit last month, as far as I could tell.
Got home from Grouse hunting here in Idaho, and her leg was all swollen from foot to elbow.
Vet thought same thing, put her on meds, in a couple of days she was fine. Happy ending.

Yeah bird numbers are looking good this year, huns and ruffed grouse numbers are high.
Reports are saying chukars are up also.
Hope ya have a nice float, interested to hear how it turned out.

I was looking at a pair of Danner's at D+B supply, a new model they looked sturdy.
Can't recall the name, but the price was $300.oo plus!

The old style Vibram soles are properly the most durable.
Any particular brand or style hold up better than others in the rims and cliffs ?

Anything you don't mind getting trashed :lol: :lol: I have a Montefeltro in 20ga. at 5lbs 6oz I can carry all day. Baretta is about 1lb more. Both great guns. My pick is a full auto 12 ga. with a drum clip to go with the rest of my chukar hunting gear which includes a GSP/Mtn. Goat cross and a chai...

Just got to be persistent, and keep hunting. If there are birds in the area.
I don't know much bout quail, but I walked around 40 miles before I found any Chukars this fall.
