Homemade launcher?
Anyone seen any good plans to build a dummy launcher. I want to use canvas dummies; and I don't need to shoot them a mile.

Re: To train or not to train?
Wow! Thanks for all the great advice. I do feel more clear on the independent thing (Independent in the field not at home) I'm thinking of not teaching the sit command. Here is some pics at 4 weeks old http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu337/shtank_photos/Family%20photos/photo1.jpg http://i661.phot...

To train or not to train?
I've been reading this forum for about a month (as I eagerly wait the arrival of my GSP pup Xmas morning) and I feel as though what I'm reading is the opposite of what i was planning on doing. A lot of members say not to train basic obedience command and let them be independent. But that sounds like...

Re: Pigeons?
Good idea! I just thought of something. Is it a bad idea to keep the dog in the same yard as the coop?pinebrookkennel wrote:Get white pigeons, the neighbors will think there white doves. When they ask tell them how blessed they were to see
Several white doves in one day.
Pigeons?
I live in a small neighborhood and was wondering how loud a pigeon coupe is with the minimum amount of birds. Also what is the minimum amount of birds needed for training one dog(just worried my neighbors would complain). And how do you stop the birds from flying away? Do you clip there wings?

I live just north of Raleigh NC. been hunting deer all my life, but never birds so i'm very green.
I just put down a deposit for a GSP pup which will be my first gun dog. I am Very excited and want to do right by her so I will be asking a lot of questions here.
Thanks in advance.
