Google Standing Stone Kennels. They have a lot of short training videos on utube that might be able to show you how to do some of the training. Ethan & Cat train their dogs for hunting and AKC hunt tests. Good luck with the pup. :D Not often I'd disagree with this guy but this time I do. Go check o...

I worry about out living my dog's. Stormy will be 10 Oct 10th and figure I'll outlive him. Snicker is just 4 and Abby not two yet. No idea who would spoil them like I do. Then too when my son leaves for a couple days he leaves his dog's with me and one in particular really miss's him. Get's on the b...

You have the remote launcher in your hand and not using it. Don't spend your time looking for the bird, watch the dog! if it moves at all immediately pop the bird. Tail starts to drop, pop the bird. Dog come's into scent cone see if you can pop the bird before the dog can point it. Keep your mouth s...

I have a belief about dog food, most is over rated! Purina Dog Chow has been feeding dogs for a hundred years and I've never read anything bad coming to the dogs that ate it. I don't worry aabout cats and bears. My problem is with wolves mostly. Wolves around, I don't hunt my dogs there. And for coyotes, they only bother me when I see packs, then I leave. had a coyote follow my Bodie in one time and I fired a shot in the air and it left. I think coyote's are basically co...

I will admit that on one level, it is fairly pointless to address a single shotgun as “my favorite gun.” Different shotguns have different purposes, and there is no reason to select only one. How about you? Well if I had to make a call it would probably be either my CZ Bobwhite 28ga or my AyA Matad...

My first suggestion would be either a GSP or a Red Setter. But if I were to think long enough I'd probably come up with a Britt too. I have trained a number of them and they are very nice mostly. Kind of hard to do some things in the snow I would think. I'd be real careful of creating a new problem forr the trainer to work on. With 2' of snow there's not a whole lot of prodductive work youcan do outside of basic obedience.

Your dog does what you allow it to do! It simply want's the bird, your job is to show it how. Remote traps guve you the opertunity to expose your dog to wild birds ways! You need to learn how to do that. Bring the dog in cross wind, check cord makes it easier but without the ck cord is much more nat...

I prefer ferals to homer's, got both. Ferals are generally smaller birds and easier to handle. Of course anything a feral can do, so can a homer but a feral can't do what a homer's does! One more thing about letting it chase in the cover your talking about. I'd take a close look at the check cord she's dragging. Should be hard core to bounce off brush and avoid tangling in it and, very important, hope there no knot in the end that could catch in a "v" in the brush and hang it up!

Couple problems, hard mouth and refusing to let go. My first though is she needs forced fetched. That should help with the hard mouth. The release is easy. Keep in mind when taking very young puppy's around chicken's. Far better than a shock from a collar is a peck from a chicken. Pup's learn real fast how to avoid the peck!
