Re: gsp puppy where to start
Get a puppy treadmill! My GSP is about to hit 7 months and is running my wife and I into the ground! And we are both athletes! It is so much fun though, I am happy for you. Good luck!

You are all very smart, but I would say you are overthinking it.
There is a more simple solution
HOT DOGS! Cheap, and super effective. It is my fail safe. I dont go anywhere without them. If you chop them up into little pieces you can get week or two out of one pack.

A loaf of bread, city pigeons, and a fishing throw net = pigeons whenever you want.

Actually the one end is a piercing flat tone. I use it for come and it works pretty well. It would be hard to get it confused with any othe whistle sound. My wife gets really mad when i blow it without a warning...

I have a double ended whistle, one is a flat tone, the other has the ball with the trill. This allows for a multitude of distinct commands. Just a thought, it is the standard here in Germany. Good luck

I guess the sarcasm was not as evident as I thought. I am waiting for the smart fetch program in the mail and will have a few months to study it and ask questions before we FF. We should be ok. And if something goes terribly wrong I will consult a professional when i get back to the states in a year

It's a persistant method containing 2 main fronts. One is atritting the patience of the enemy by never letting up and the second is a Psychological Ops approach to insert a fictitious event in the enemy's mind and then make them feel bad for it, leading to getting your way. Maybe I could write a boo...

So I am very new to this all but it looks as though everyone would agree that introducing your puppy to birds is key to their development as a bird dog. My question is this: Can any type of bird suffice for general intro purposes? I see pidgeons are quite popular but what about common birds in the w...
