Currently have 7 pointers. Need to add a lab puppy in the next year or so. Have a planned breeding this spring and will keep one or two back out of that. I usually buy or raise a pup or two every year to sell as a started or finished dog.

Had a pup I started last year out of T's gunner runner, Talmage Smedley's stuff which is line bred Tekoa Mountain Outrage. He ran well in the heat, but with that said if you hunt in warm weather get a pointer/ colder weather setters shine.

Cut my mearns trip short because of the rediculous amount of hunters. Didn't establish camp the first day because my normal locations had multiple camps of 3-4 rvs or 5-6 trucks all around them. 2nd day moved way east out of the area that is greatly impacted by the Internet posts, magazine articles...

I'm sure everyone stopped paying attention to this thread because the guy with the show pretty much said stick it in your eye I'm doing whatever I want to do. All I know is I'm glad this is happening, people are starting to come to south western states and camp out for weeks at a time taking tons of birds. Possession limits are there to tell you when you have taken enough game and your hunt should be over.

I have the regular t-5's. I have some 35lb pointers and the size of the tracking collar has never been an issue. I want the most battery life and distance possible, you don't need it till you need it!

That sucks Cody! My last one was $625 for 3 progesterone tests and surgical implant. And it was done on Christmas day. $200 to ship frozen semen, but we did 2 day shipping. Maybe it's the area that I live in but we are doing the numbers for a frozen semen vice a chilled semen breeding and it's way higher out here. Frozen we are looking at $500 bucks just to ovenight it and like a $250 deposit on the shipping cannister, frozen semen its self is $1500.00 plus the $120.00...

I would really look at the blackhawk line of dogs, very biddle, nice style, good nose, and tough dogs. Also the ones I've had and bred have been natural retrievers. Really good bird dogs. Anything black hawk/elhew katie lee is usually a proven cross, I'm not sure how much he was collected but great...

I have 4 female pointers and two of them can get real different during their cycles. Sometimes they are real loving other times just want to be left alone, they also can be black hearted in the field run off and take out birds etc. Kind of like some mares.

The problem with the 28 is that the guns are often over-built which takes all the appeal out of owning this gauge, now get one built on a true scaled 28 ga. and you will be in love.
