Re: Pants and vest
So you may want to add more info on what your hunting and where. Apologies if I missed it. Pants- I have a pair of first lite sawbuck and love them held up well through one full season so far on chuckar in California. They do run long in leg by design. Stretch well, never had anything poke through (...

Re: Choosing a Shotgun
As others said mounting the gun constantly is important. There are drills using a flashlight that are great. Get the best quality you can (might be able to find something used). You didn’t give a budget -maybe look for a beretta a400 (semi) or a silver pigeon (ou) try to buy from a shop or range so ...

Re: Dog Bed
Kurada beds have been good for me 1 is older style and at least 7yr old only thing wrong is the tubes bowed a bit ( now it would be their indoor model). They make ones for a crate but I like the wet mutt mats for that think those are 2yo ish and while not daily bed they never chewed them on multi da...

Re: Pointing dog breed for retirement
I’d say greg is spot on. Hard to generalize even the field trial lines sometimes get a boot licker and line of foot hunting dogs can get a run off. Talk w breeders and trainers, go and see how the dogs hunt. Ask lots questions. You may just not want to take a crate with you till you are pretty well ...

Re: Are you an NRA member?
Yes proud member and have bought other friends that had yet to become members a year or two membership. While I can agree with displaced Texan that some political groups are hard to stand behind or with the NRA and groups like them (NSSF, SCI) and many state level groups are there fighting so I-we c...

Re: Dandruff
May be related to food as mentioned above. You might look at adding fish oil to diet in my case seems to improve coat . I think in previous post you had just got the pup are you on same feed as breeder? Did dandruf start after changing to your food?
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Buying my first hunting dog
It's all percentages. Can you get a good hunting dog from the adds? Yes but the odds of a good dog increase from reputable breeders. A started dog pushes the odds more in your favor as you know it can hunt, and you don't have to pay a trainer to get to that point. Like rooster said see about joining...

Re: Digging! GSP's - Any Tips?
Pavers can work, you need to prep the ground (base) then sand between pavers, bigger will make it harder to move they may be able to manipulate brick size paver. You can try burying the pannel or put decomposed granite from a building suply co. Thin lifts then add cement (powder) to treat DG, might ...
