Christmas Break Hunting?
I'm always off between Dec. 23-Jan.2 and this next year I was thinking about traveling to hunt some wild birds over break. I was curious what other people would think is the best best hunting experience this time of the year. Also all species of birds are included and I would prefer not to leave the...

Large GSP Problem
A have bought a male GSP from a breeder in Nebraska, and since then it has been 3 years. Many members might have seen my ads in the Dogs For Sale section, and for most of the training sessions I have more than enough difficulty controlling him and our cooperation is terrible. Many because he is arou...

Re: In need for some GSP puppy help.
Myself and sons do a lot of hunting in New Jersey for stocked birds and usually bag a decent amount of quail or pheasant over him everytime we go out, but they lost almost as much birds to floods and snow as we did

Re: In need for some GSP puppy help.
No problem and the reason I'm actually selling him is to pay for an English Pointer. Do you hunt a lot of grouse/woodcock with your pointers, or mainly stocked birds?

Re: In need for some GSP puppy help.
My young GSP is for sale, he's great with children and would be great any stocked birds/preserve or grouse/woodcock hunting your friend does. You can take a look at him in the Dogs for Sale classifieds. Thanks, James

I don't know where New Oxford is in PA, but in SE PA the stocked pheasants don't surive.I go on the HUNT PA chatroom and in the NW,SW PA hunters seem to get birds that survive stocking dates almost months later.

What qualities does he have that you feel people would want and that need to be pasted on? I like his looks in a couple of your posts but looks too long legged in your Avatar pic. Llewellin setter, have a GSP now ,and I grouse hunt a lot. I also heard that they are bred with natural abilities to retrieve and point, so it would be a little less training than other dog breeds.
