Re: East Tn grouse hunters
Check with TWRA. They use to have control of the area. By next fall they should have control of it again. The paperwork is in its final stages. Vaughn and Melton in Middlesboro may be able to help with maps also.

Re: RGS in the Southern Appalachians
Don't know of any work they have done down south. You would think they would be on the front line to fight Heartwood to get our Forest Service logged. Think they put all of their effort in the north. I don't even know what they do up there. That is due to my ignorance. I guess it is easy to say they...

Re: Appalachian Grouse
5 birds in 3 hours so it was a good morning for us. We hunted a 30 year old cut that is a tangle of grape vines and Christmas fern. We were talking today about all the money the state is letting rot on the ground. The hardwoods are getting old and falling over. We have tons of trees ready to cut bu...

Re: Kansas Hunting Clip
Thanks for sharing your hunting adventure. Hope your buddy was OK with you swinging your muzzle past his head on the last bird. Enjoyed the dog work, but have to say, I winced at the gun handling at the end.

Re: TriStar
I bought one. I have shot 3 boxes of shells through it and love the little gun. It is a dream to shoot. It is well balanced and shots where I point it. The best part, at the end of the day my arms don't hurt. For the money, it is well worth it. Another thing, I don't hesitate to drag it through heck...

I held one at a gun show. The gun is heavy but so is most Remingtons. If I had to choose, I would pick the 1100 over it.

I have an over and under Antoio Zoli in a 20 gauge. It has 26" barrels, bottom is improved cylinder and top is modified. The gun is in good condition. I have killed alot of birds with the gun. Re: Grouse in southern App.
Here we had several bad hatch years. All the above problems mentioned above add to the low numbers. If you throw in the natural diseases, such as west nile virus and avian pox it is a steep up hill battle. What research I have done on avian pox, it will wipe out 50% of the population when it hits. S...

Re: Benelli Ultra Light, Montefeltro, or Browning Silver Hunter
I have a Benelli M1 Super 90 20 gauge. It is the same gun as the M2. It will be the last gun I part with. I use it to hunt grouse, quail, and woodcock. I have used it for the last 8 years to turkey hunt with. I have never failed to fill my turkey tags. I use the Under Taker choke tub. I use federal ...

Re: Charles Daly Shotguns
I had one and my wife had one. Both of them had issues. Mine started to double feed and my wifes started to shot twice when the trigger was pulled. Traded them off to a gunsmith. Just keep in mind, they are a $300 shotgun. You get what you pay for.
