Most of us are hunters and identify with each other as such. A forum like this would most likely be very pro gun so to pose such questions should produce answers that generally are in agreement. Valid point. If the hunter or guides knew the supposed importance of this particular lion to the eco-system would they have still pursued him and killed him? Nobody really knows, but the three of them. However, was this lion any more important than any other lion?

I guess that is my struggle as well. This seems like a senseless killing of an animal that was supposed to be protected. Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this somewhat sad news. I love to hunt and watch my dog do what she was bred to do, but have a hard time wrapping my arms around a big game hunt like this. My GSP exhibited same symptoms...we were given the same advice and ended up in surgery for knee #1. The hope with rest is that if it is minor enough that scar tissue will form around the tear and stabilize the joint. We tried that approach and it didn't work. About a year later we were in for knee #...

My dog had TTA done on left leg and tight rope done on right leg. After a long day in the woods, or a long day running around the yard she tends to favor her tight rope leg. A couple days of light duty and she is back to as 'normal' as can be with two bum knees.

Cajun...maybe re-homed him is the correct terminology. He was placed in a home then returned to the breeder due to a divorce so the story goes. We then got him from the original breeder. Mi-Karma is the line out of winchester VA. Her dogs are mainly bred for show.
