Gamebirds that have been pressured all get jumpy whether it be bobwhite in the piney woods, pheasant in the midwest or sharptail/huns/chukar in the prairies/western States, birds start flushing wild or run off without being seen. Sharptails are notorious for being jumpy, field trial trainers who go ...

Find a training group or a local pro to help you or simply expose the pup to any/all the wild game birds that you can. meanwhile, put the e-collar around your neck and every time you think you should shock the pup then shock yourself. E-collar is a helpful tool in the hands of someone who knows how/...

you received some good advise here, you might want to hold off on those pigeons for a while and let the pup chase those robins and chippy birds while he is exploring the new world of being in the field. When you do get around to starting your pup on birds, keeping your mouth shut is really important.

In an American Field trial pointing a dead bird is a "non event" and you handled it appropriately by giving the bird to the judge (removing it from the course) and taking your dog on. If they didn't place your dog it likely was for reasons other than the dead bird encounter.
