Alfa .22 Starter Pistol Doesn't Fit Powder Loads
In my Alfa the cylinder there is a lip so it doesn't allow for the long powder load to go down all the way. My friend has an Alfa and his doesn't have a lip and it works fine. Same gun, same caliber, different cylinder apparently. Is there a way to buy a new cylinder or I'm also thinking of boring o...

Re: Another Question About "Singing"
Almost every AA stake in AKC I've watched the handlers were singing the whole time. "YOOOO" or similar like the video. You don't want to lose a dog and especially not at Ames after all that work. Probably not as common in gun dog stakes in AKC because the dogs aren't the type that are running enormo...

Re: Field Trial Question - Commands allowed?
The "problem" with a relocation, and why handlers will take the NP is pretty simple. If, while the dog is on the move, the bird or birds take flight you're out. Very hard to make the case it was a Stop to Flush....the dog knew the birds were there and his movement caused them to take flight. Stop t...

Odds of an all age out of Snips x Top Gun is pretty low, probably impossible - don't think there are any out of those lines that compete in AA or ever have...? Just adding a big running male will most likely not produce AA - but who the heck knows. Top AA to top AA and you're lucky to get an AA.

I don't think this method could be used on a dog that trials. Have you ever trained a dog strictly on this method that got its FC in horse back trials? I just don't think it's possible without using an e-collar or tons and tons of wild birds. JMO. As far as this natural submissive cowering - I don't...

I never liked the idea of tracking collar's in a trial in the first place. Probably the thing to do is make the handler promise not to cheat! That should work well. There are 4 stakes (classes) in retriever field trials. Derby: for dogs under 2 years old. No blind retrieves; only marks.
