I have 2 Llewellin setters. I have had Irish, Gordon and Red setters as well. I like the 2 Llewellins I have now as well or better than any dogs I have had for hunting. Not having had an English Setter I can't really say if there the much difference between them. But I will say that these two are g...

Thank you for the replies. I have looked into adoptions for the past year. Why not ge...

I like my Irish Setter 12" Elk tracker, with 200grams of insulation. for me the insulation adds a little padding and makes near all conditions down to 20 degrees or so a one sock deal. Re: Have you switched brands because of taste?
I have actually done 'taste test' with my dog. I get 2 small plastic bowls put an equal amount of food (different kinds) in each, and put them down call my dog in and see what one he eats first. Then do it again but switch the placement of the bowls. Each time he would smell each bowl before eating ...

Raising penned pheasants
My uncle called me today (he is the president of the local Rod and Gun Club). Straw or Cedar Chips ?
We are using straw right now, but it makes a mess as my ES is mostly an inside dog. He is locked out in an uninsulated 'mud room' with access to the outside during the day.
I heard that cedar chips work, but not sure of the smell or if he tries to eat one or two would be harmful ....
Thanks
