Not from there, but have made the trip to the Waverly grounds for the national trial. Nebraska is part of the Midwest region with Iowa. Kirkland warbler habitat. All jack pines now, a total waste of great land if you ask me. They planted those a while back, some never grew, so you have hundreds of acres of barren land.

I try to shoot as many as I can if I have a young dog (under 2) on the ground. They hold tight, they stink, they are forgiving, and when they do flush, they don't fly far. I'd just stay away from the pronghorn. Not as high quality, and they are made over seas. Stick with the Grouse, they are US made, and much higher quality.

I guess as a general rule, scenting conditions aren't that great when the temps are high and wind is blowing hard, but how much difference would you see. If you have a dog that consistently gives a good showing at 60F with 7mph winds, what do you think would happen if it had to run at 90F with 15-2...

90% of the guys I trial with use Benelli M 1's and M 2's. I personally use a Remington 1100 sporting 28ga with fancy walnut stock, or bad weather/training use a Remington SxS 20ga. No way will I take out any high dollar double gun to train with, learned my lesson.
