Re: Need a help pointing

4 months is really young. My opinion is to forget about launchers or any formal training tools for a while. Let your pup run around in areas that he may stumble across a bird, let him chase "bleep" birds and build his confidence. The results you get later in will all be worth it. Don't rush hinge. L...

Re: First time Brittany owner from UT. lots of questions!

I am in utah and run Brittany's. You are welcome to come out with us anytime you want. Where'd you get your pup from? I am also the president of the Wasatch Front Brittany club and we would love to have you join us. We are going to start doing training days and hunt days once a month.

I wanted to know if anyone rides a saddle like this and what your opinions are of this style saddle. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v612/jeremey_king/20103B2C-2686-4CBF-802C-F12305C632F6-764-000000498E4B8283_zpsecc4441e.jpg I have ridden the traditional western roping saddle my whole life and jus...

Re: American brittany lines

When I am looking for a pup I do consider what the lineage is a few generations back, however I am also look at what the sire and bitch are doing. NLB was a great producer but that doesn't mean all of his offspring are producers. Do some research on the dogs of today and see what they are producing ...

Re: American brittany lines

It may be good for you to post up here what you are looking out of a pup (ie big run, trial, hunting only, ect) as well as the pedigree in question. There are a lot of Knowlegable Brittany people on this board.

Re: First time off leash advice needed

Agree with what Ezzy said. At this age you will have. Harder time getting them to go away than keeping them close. Like what was also said before just keep working on recall but when out in a safe area, let them explore and build self dependence.

Re: Favorite Dog names, Whats yours?

I had a buddy that named his dog "U2".
He had two dogs at the time. He didn't name the second dog for while after owning him so after a while he'd call the first dog then he just say and U2 to get the other pup to come. It just kind of stuck.

Re: amateur handling

As an amature myself I have learned to trust my dog and shut my mouth unless its needed. Biggest mistake I was making was trying to micro manage my dogs every move, not allowing her to use her natural ability thus not letting the judge see what she can do. Best thing that ever happened to me was hav...

Re: working on steady question

All great posts. I personally feel that by letting a young dog chase it helps build confidence. Like Maurice said, let them tell you when they are mature enough to handle pressure. I have a 4 year old Britt that I broke when she was just shy of 2. I now feel she was too young to handle it. Yes she's...

AA Brittany lines and Breeder.

I have a friend that is looking for a big/powerful running Brittany pup. I am looking for suggestions on specific lines or breeders to look at in achieving this. If you have a link to a site that would be great. Thanks

Training grounds?

I was just wondering if anyone has ever use a golf course for running dogs? I have access to a course that I live by that will allow me to run my dogs during their down time. I thought it would be great for teaching them to run lines and hit objectives. Plus I can build a jonny house and use bobwhit...

Re: To sit or not to sit!

I am dealing with this problem right now. The guy who had my Britt before me(i got her when she was 6 months)taught her to sit, now every time she gets confused she sits. Very frustrating and could have been avoided.

I will sell this to you for $80 shipped to helena, mt. Used 3/4 mile range Expandable to 2 dogs Waterproof doubt you will find a 3/4 mile ra...

Nebraska Pheasant Hunting

I am from Utah and my father in-law is purchasing a 13,000 acre ranch in Cherry County NE. The ranch is located just west of Merriman on the Hwy 20. He has asked me to go out there with him just after the first of the year and look at the ranch. I am wanting to take my dog and shotgun so I can chase...
