It has been about a month now that I had my 1.5 yr. GSP neutered and he seems to have gone a little batty. Before the neutering, he never even tested my fence, not even close. I have a 5 ft. split rail with wire fencing on to keep him in and also 6 ft. privacy fence on one side. I think skateboarder...

If she stood her ground the second time and you ended with that, I'd say the first catch wasn't a terrible thing. Certainly not the best thing, but more experiences with birds and holding steady will sure her up.

Can you train them to never hike a leg? Anyone? I started taking my pup to the middle of the yard away from everything in the morning when I first let him out and then a couple times during the day. There is NOTHING there to pee on except grass so he squats. Keep him on a leash and don't go anywher...

I have been feeding the young one twice a day and have been putting water in it to slow him down and get him more fluids...hasn't helped much. I have the Sportdog Beeper/E-collar also and use the "Run Mode" button as a recall and "locate" button to make the thing shut up when we are just going for a free-run but still want to use the collar for recall!

Very interesting because I just read another article in Outdoor Life praising the all but extinct 16ga. They were saying that it was the perfect upland gauge. I heard a little trick that you snap two leashes on him, one short one and the other a long cc. Is there a reason you don't want the wire style crates? If I lay the rear seats down, in my Ford Escape, I can fit 2 definitely and I'm fairly certain a third would fit as well.....It'd be cheaper to replace crates than a vehicle. I have done the scratch open and use rubbing alcohol to dry it up. Burns like crazy but works. I have also heard of people using Clorox! Don't know that I'd want that on my skin though.

Another +1 on the TT Bark Limiter. I have one that sometimes would bark at nothing in the middle of the night in his crate...doesn't do that anymore.
