Re: GSP not as advertised
As a breeder, I would want a phone call as it is too easy to misinterpret emails. I would follow that email up with a call. The breeder/seller, whoever, if they are reputable and care at all about the dog, will do whatever it takes to fix the situation. Right now it seems emotion is guiding the dire...

Not sure where you are on the east coast, but there are quite a few there. Donnie Ebersole at Freidelsheim GSP's is in Maryland. Fred Rice has Sundance GSP's in North Carolina. Stacie Smith at Windchime Kennels in South Carolina and of course Brenda Roe has Walnut Hill Kennels in Georgia. There are ...

Re: Anybody ever redocked a tail?
I have redocked one that was very long and sickled more than I care for. I had it done at 4 months or so. It was done under anesthesia and we had no complications. The hair grew back around it just fine. I don't feel my vet docked it where I wanted it though and it ended up too short, but still look...

Re: Breeder Question
You do have a very good breeder very close in Stacie Smith at Windchimes Kennel in Chester, SC. A google search will get you her website and FB page. I would at least call her and talk to her about her dogs. She does a lot of hunt tests and will also run her dogs in field trials. She is an AKC hunt ...

Not sure how long I have had mine, but I have no complaints. I have a 2 dog box and move it around all the time and there are no problems with durability. Another side note about switching foods like you have been is that there is there seems to be some belief that there is an increased risk of developmental orthopedic disease in larger breed dogs when you make several food switches. Just throwing that out there for something to think about. I am a li...

Jerry, I think it a little of both...but more that a certain pro isn't doing HT dogs anymore. Years back, and you probably recall, the HT program in MN was a owner/handler/trainer deal. Yes, they was Joe Leblanc that would work some dogs for people but the pro was really a rare deal. Then Chad came...

You do have a well known, reputable breeder not too far from you. Look up Candlewood kennels in Portage, Wi. I'm not a lab guy, but have heard plenty of good about their dogs. Re: really! (why trials should not be limited to a breed.)
I personally like the thought of closed breed trials, with the premise that the intent is to keep true to breed and identify the best in the breed, instead of adapting the breed to fit the game. I think any reasonable person can understand that a FC Spinone is not going to be the same as a FC Pointe...

I have both breeds and I don't think you can judge those qualities based on the breed. I think you need to look at the individual dog.
