Re: 11 month old gsp dropping tail on point
I'm using planted birds in a launcher. Mostly pigeons but I've tried chuckar too. I've had him running free and on the check cord. The first few times I tried to style him up now I just let him stand and then my training partner circles around and flushes. We have shot the bird and sometimes not. A ...

11 month old gsp dropping tail on point
My 11 month old gsp pup has started dropping his tail on point. Last fall he hunted great and had a very nice tail set on point. He has a nice big range and tons of desire but this tail thing is driving me crazy. He hadn't been out because of the early and long winter. When we took him out he starte...

Re: Self hunting
Thank you all for the feedback I appreciate it. Deseeker - you hit my concern on the head. I had no concerns with chasing or range it was the blowing me off when I recalled him in a range I knew he could hear. I had not moved to stimulation on recall yet and expected the obedience part was what I ne...

I have a 5 month old gsp pup. I've hunted him several times this fall with very good bird work (quarters nicely, good range and holds point) and his cooperation has been good. This weekend however the second day out he decided to chase a hen after I flushed, then he came half way back and then off h...

I'm in the market for a dog trailer. I've never owned one so I'm looking for input on the better options out there. Would like a tandem axle and 6 to 8 hole. Please share your thoughts and experiences. Obviously want the best bang for the buck so pros and cons you may have had or heard of would be g...

Re: Won't point wild birds
That is exactly what I was thinking but I didn't want to accuse. I think the dog is shutting down. Easier to do nothing and not get hit I suppose. I will try to get out with him when testing is over. I can report back with what I see. Thank you for the reply.

Won't point wild birds
I have a friend who has a 17 month old setter. I don't train with him but he has come out a few times for help. He said his dog wouldn't point but after our first session the dog was pointing beautifully. He got better each time he was out(4-5×) He also claimed the dog was gun sensative or shy but m...

Vomiting
Dog vomited about a week and a half ago and then was fine for several days then she threw up again Sunday night. Only one time then she was good by Monday afternoon. She eats drinks and poops. Stools are not firm but not overly loose either. Then tonight she ate and threw up an hour and a half later...

Re: gsp with hair loss
Vet did test the antibodies at my request. Came back normal. She still wants to go the food allergy route. I am not happy with that as I said dog has zero itching. She still stands by saying the dog is not thyroid because her levels were normal and after 8 weeks she started to get small pustules and...

Re: gsp with hair loss

She said the antibiotics the first vet had the dog on can cause thyroid levels to show...

Well my dog has been on .5mg soloxine for 7 weeks now. Had blood drawn again to see where we are at. Hair has not come back as of yet and she started to get pustules again last Thursday. Update on dogs condition. Met with a new vet for a second opinion. She did say they are faster in an emergency but ...

Ok so I want to use ivomec and safegaurd liquid for goats instead of buying heartgaurd plus. My question is what is the proper dose for each and should or could they be given at the same time orshould they be spaced apart? Also would be open to other suggestions.
Thanks
