Re: Question on coloring of pups
I don't think performance guys care about color becouse they pick the best dog not color in a hand picked breeding. The average owner seem to care more about color. Me personly I don't like solid liver or a vary white dog. I just breed my bitch to black male in hopes of keeping a black ticked bitch....

I would look at pedigrees that match up well with a emphis on strong line breeding. Vary few males can reproduce themself I think you hedge the bet with line breeding. I also would limit your self to just Nstra dogs

I bought sum mane and coat horse shampoo and conditioner. If it works for a horse it should work for this hunting dog. He's has a really nice coat for a gsp I would even say he has about as good of coat as you can get on gsp especially a white dog. I'm just trying to hedge the bet and its a new aren...

I wouldnt be mixing them I house my chuckers in the barn separate from my pigeons I've found out the hard way mixing birds equals dead birds. Have you had problems with predators getting in the recall tube? My thinking was to have the pen in crp grass so the birds have a little cover for safer travel

I'm thinking of putting one or two on my the farm. Any advice would be great. I have mostly trained with chucker and house about 50 at all times. In most all cases female owners search out approved studs. You just don't decide that you want to have a stud dog. In order for him to be desirable he needs to have accomplished something special usually in testing venues / hunting and have a pedigree to back it up and even then its hard to get bree...

I would think the top kennels across the coutry that preregister their puppies will use the kennel name first on the pedigree. I don't think that would be considered a restriction. If a new owner had a problem with that I think the owner would be the problem

$1000 stud fee for a untrained, untitled, unproven dog its more like steeling from the trainer for being too nice. After reading many replys on this thread its some serious cases of OCD going on in the dog world. This trainer sounds like a stand up fair guy.
