Re: Brittany Breeder in Eastern Iowa area
Cant help with a Brit, but have you looked into a Small Munsterlander. They do upland, waterfowl and can track deer. Not to mention they are great house and family dogs. Plus, I am betting if you show your wife a picture she will see they are cute as heck! http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a39/ladybo...

"Desire" has nothing to do with force fetching. It isnt Desire fetching.
Bumpers should be placed not thrown during Force Fetch.
Sounds to me like you havent instilled a sense of urgency with the dog. Maybe have taken the pressure off way to soon.

Good idea Ray. Only problem is that I need both hands. One on the ear and the other the bumper. My chain is attached to the cable with a wheel thingy. SOrry, not very technical. Maybe I need to just suck it up and deal with it. LOL

You are pretty close to understanding. So the dog is attached to the cable that runs above the table. How do you make the trolley so you can tighten it up on the cable to create tension so the dog has to pull harder to get the object. PUlly might work though.........Thanks

Yeah, I get the same thing with my little bitch. As a bonus, it always seems she is in heat when I have her signed up for a test. Great fun. On the flip side, when it comes to hunting, she is more aggressive with how she handles birds and I LOVE hunting her in season. Also, I am a little quirky duri...

Not sure it can be taught, if it isnt there. But it can be awakened if it is there.
My guess is it is there in any good bird dog. It just needs to be awakened in one not exposed.

Hopefully you have a routine when you collar your dog.
When I go training or hunting it is the same routine. I always turn the collar on by their heads and then put them on the dog. If you are smart, you can figure out your own routine that works for you. Get in your dogs head.
