Re: Puppy & Derby points counting towards AKC FC
You do away with points, you do away with the stakes, and I think the stakes are important. I agree with Karen. Puppy and Derby are very important for dogs to get the experiance with horses, other handlers, other dogs, different grounds and to gain confidence. Now a days puppy and derby stakes are ...

Re: really!
I am not sure the qualifications to become an AFC or FC for the Spinone Italiano but for the Brittanys you have to get a major in a Brittany Trial to recieve either you AFC or FC. Due to the limited number of trials it can sometimes be difficult to finish you dog and could go a long time waiting for...

Thank you everyone for the advice. He ran this weekend in North Carolina and HE LISTENED I am over joyed. At time he was way up front and going strong. Too bad there was only 3 bird contacts the entire trial. So much for wild birds.

Re: Deer Chasing Dog
You Garmin has made it much easier to break All-Age dogs. Most don't understand that it is not the same as trainng a hunting dog that stays in sight. You can break those off as long as they know you can see them, but not when they get over the hill. The Garmin gives you eyes when they think they ar...

Deer Chasing Dog
I have a 4 year old Brittany who is only 2 points away from finishing his FC title. He is a wonderful All Age dog and rock solid broke. We have even had him go missing at field trials only to find him standing when we pulled out the tracker. Recently, He has become a deer dog and will go missing loo...

Kill Birds for him. Dogs want to please and sometimes they become overwhelmed and a bit confused by what we ask of them. You need to remember breaking is a delicate process that cannot be done overnight. If you ask too much from your dog too quickly you could have flagging or worse blinking of birds...

Do you have to shoot the birds or are there gunners? I am not a hunter but my dogs are trained to be steady to wing and shot. Do the dogs have to retrieve? I was thinking about going just to become educated and maybe I would enter a dog.

Re: Grand Field Trial Champion
Currently, AKC does not recognize an hour stake. The 30 min and hour stakes are all lumped together. I like that this new title will distinguish a dog that has been able to win hour stakes. As a breeder we are always looking to improve the breed and looking for those dogs that have the stamina to la...

So I ended up buying a HovaBator 2362N with an egg Turner 1610. Hopefully that is a good one. Hard to find reviews. I would have purchased the model below this but this one has a fan. Hope it works ::Fingers Crossed::

Choosing the right Quail/Chucker incubator
I would like to start raising my own baby quail and chucker. I am looking for any advice anyone may have. I know already to buy and automatic turner but can someone suggest what the best unit would be. I am only going to hatch at most 50 eggs.

Karen don't do the litter. Just register your pups with FDSB. The litter registration is a waste. Never knew that you can registed just the dog. One time I didnt registed the litter and a field trial friend ended up getting a puppy and explained to me that it was an annoying process registering his...

I have had a few experiences with torn up feet (JOHNNY) and I would recommend EMT ointment. It is very thick and sticky and does not come off once it dries. I use it for all cuts http://emtgel.com/whatitis/index.php
